We left Santa Rosalia the second week of July. So, there’s the answer to how far we could go, and how long we could last. Not very impressive, unless you consider all the cruisers who never even try it at all! San Carlos is on the mainland side of the Sea, about halfway up, and considered to offer reasonable protection from hurricanes. Hundreds of boats are stored here over the Summer, most “on the hard,” or sitting on jackstands on dry land just up the road from the marina. Slappey sits happily in the water, tended to by us every day or so, getting cleaned, polished, and having a rest. We sit happily cool in a little condo with air-conditioning. We still have the same heat-related problems, in that we can’t be out much in the heat of the day. It feels a little like being under house-arrest, to tell the truth, as there isn’t much to do in this season. The views are really special, though. I never knew how scenic the area was until we got over here. Have a look for yourself…..
